Little Squirt

I'll tell ya, this little squirt knows how to work you over.  Whenever she gets caught doing something she knows she's not supposed to she looks at you, smiles, waves, and says, "hi" in a guilty, but cute little voice. How do you reprimand that???

Getting caught coloring all over herself.  See what I'm talking about. How do you get mad at that face! (Yes, that is a black eye. Poor thing tripped and hit the corner of her eye)

In True Redneck Style

This is what we do when we are bored, and we don't have any money, and when we don't feel like driving 30 min to Wet 'n Wild.

We make a homemade sprinkler out of a water bottle and duck tape.
And we fill a tub up with water and....sit in it.

Sometimes it's fun getting in touch with your inner redneck. :)

Bruce's Birthday

For Bruce's birthday we went on a date. Just the two of us. Yes, it was glorious. For our date we went out to eat and then went to see the new Harry Potter movie.  It was so good! I thought the ending was a little anti-climatic though. But nothing beats getting to spend some one on one time with the hubs! :)

On Sunday we celebrated Bruce's birthday with a family dinner.  We had his favorite, taco potatoes, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. We topped it off with a wonderful rendition of the Fischer family birthday song.

Our Lake At The Day

We got to spend an awesome day at Badin Lake with our good friends, the Millers! I was a little nervous about what Madi would do, but she did really well. She loved riding on the boat and even took a turn riding on the inner tube.  We tried to get her to swim in the water but she wasn't quite ready for that yet. It was fun to be out on the lake again and to wakeboard for the first time in two years. I was definitely sore the next day.  I'm not sure if it was from the wake boarding or from Tim trying to throw us off the inner tube.  Probably both. Hehe.   Nothing beats a good "lake at the day!" (inside joke)

Madi's first time in the tube.

Taking a siesta on Grandpa's lap.

These boots are made for walking...

Mema bought us some cute boots. So we took pictures.

Wet 'n Wild

My parents got us passes to Wet 'n Wild Emerald Point this summer.  We have had so much fun taking Madi to the water park. She was very timid the first couple of times we went. She didn't really like the "big" pool and would stick close to us in the baby pool, but now she is going down slides and getting in  past her shoulders.  She will even let us lay her on her back and she will kick her legs.  It is fun to see her gain more and more confidence and to watch the look on her face when she does something she's a little nervous about. Her favorite things to do are the swings, the lazy river, and going down the "big" slide in a tube with mommy and daddy.

Girls Camp

At the end of June I had the opportunity to attend girls camp. It was the first girls camp as the newly created High Point Stake. Because they were in the process of creating a new stake it took a while for them to call a stake camp director (my mom) which meant their choices for a place to go were limited as well. The camp that they found didn't have a whole lot of activities for the girls to do so one of the sisters came up with a fun way for the girls to do their certification.  We had our own Amazing Race! I got to help out with the planning and making sure everything ran smoothly.  I think the girls really enjoyed it and it was fun to be on the "leader" end of girls camp.  I never knew how much planning went in to girls camp! It was a really great experience for me.

I also really loved the theme of camp this year.  It was Happily Ever After centered around President Uchtdorf's talk titled, Your Happily Ever After. If you haven't read it, you should.  Its about all of us being children of our Heavenly Father, sent to this earth for a sacred purpose.  Our life upon this earth is our "once upon a time" and if we are faithful in this journey than we are offered the greatest gift of all, eternal life, and the blessing of our own "happily ever after".

Here are some of the lyrics to the camp song. It's called Happily Ever After by Jenny Phillips.  I LOVE this song.  Every time the girls sang it I teared up because I could truly feel the love that Heavenly Father has for all of them and how special they all are.  I like it so much that I made a little video of Madelyn to the words of the song, because she is my little princess. :)

Once upon a time
A child was born into this life
Heaven could be seen in her eyes
There was no doubt she was divine
And if you are still you will feel the truth
That the princess in this wondrous story is you

[Chorus]
It’s your time
It’s your destiny to shine
So arise
Be true to the royal
That’s inside of you
Don’t settle for the story that
The world would have you write
You were born to reach eternal life
Let faith fill every chapter
Let the Savior lead you to
Happily ever after

It rained one of the nights so we all played Minute To Win It games.

My sister Allie and her princess crown.
It was really fun to be at camp with both my mom and my sister. My dad even came up at night and gave one of the evening devotionals. Which, by the way, was amazing. I am so grateful to have been able to go to camp this year!
